Hi everyone! I'm Sophie, the soul behind Dark Marshes.

In 2023, I turned my life upside down as I quit my corporate job that wasn't making me happy. Then I pursued the journey of finding myself, what I liked and what I was good at. That's when I found jewelry, as I started  a year and a half course at École des Métiers du Sud Ouest de Montréal (EMSOM). After only a few months, I knew this craft had became a true passion.

Before I got my diploma in February 2025, I was already planning to launch my own business, to truly express myself as an artist. That's how Dark Marshes was born, slowly working on pieces that represented me, and my interests for the dark and the strange.

I've also been a fan of alternative art, fashion and especially music for a while, which continues to drive my creative process. This beautiful community that I found in Montreal made me feel like I belonged to something, that it was good to be different. That's why I craft jewelry, to empower other people, make them feel proud about themselves and their differences.
